Sibilant SSSSssssss...
Finally got the S's done. Note: the way my job seems to be going it might be a while before I have time to update the site again.

Damn spammers
Renamed Contact page because those damn spammers seem to be the only ones finding it. If I still get spam I'll have to remove the page entirely. Up to R is also done, and I'm still working on it. Also noticed I accidentally typed 99 for the year on these updates:).

Bunch of work
It looks like I'll be doing a bunch of work on this site this weekend and hopefully beyond that, so I'll just keep uploading and let you know when I'm done with the alphabet:).

D is for "doh!"
Finished the D's and fixed A-C so the links won't get stuck in my frames:).

How to spend money...
I just found out the great site GEMM now has an affiliate program, and thought that would make a great addition to the site. If you haven't been there before, take a look and you'll see why. It's a site where you can search for CDs, tapes, and even records and other related merchandise from tons of online music merchants (they list books and videos too). It's the best place I've found to find import, used, and hard to find CDs online. If there's something you've been looking for there's a good chance you'll find it there. (I've spent WAY too much money there myself, which is why I can say that;).) You can compare prices before you buy (which is always nice) and order through GEMM (usually the seller picks up the surcharge so you don't have to). I've had very good luck ordering through them, and they do rate the merchants. I really think GEMM is a great place for Rockers Online to be affiliated with, since with so many smaller stores the chances of finding what you're looking for is better than at the big sites, especially when you consider the variety of bands listed here:). So check them out, and if you want to help support Rockers Online go to http://rockonline.gemm.com.

I've started adding links on each artist's page to find their music on GEMM, and while I'm at it I'm adding date stamps and Musical Genre to each page, and fixing all the broken links I can find. I'm working my way through the alphabet, and right now I've done up to C and also cleaned up the resources page. I'll upload the rest as I get a chance to work on them. I also added a Get In Touch page.

Big changes...
Well, I finally started getting back to work on this page. I've fallen so far behind it's ridiculous, but a lot of it can be blamed on a move across the country (from NY to Los Angeles), changing jobs, and having a lot of other major changes in my life. Right now I'm working as an HTML Programmer for WeddingChannel.com, which keeps me too busy to do as much work on this site as I would like (and after hand-coding HTML all day at work, it's a good thing I have Frontpage 2000 here at home:).)  It's also made me realize that what I'm trying to do as one person REALLY requires a staff of 100 to keep up, so you'll have to bear with me if the site isn't the best it could be. But I am going to try to update this site whenever I have a chance, and I am trying to catch up on the old e-mail I've received from people wanting sites added or links changed in the order I received them (I'm up to 10/98, which shows just how long this has been going on:(.)

So far I've made a few changes to some existing band pages (Any pages that have been updated now have a date stamp at the bottom of the page) and tried to fix or take out any bad links on the pages I worked on. I've also added one new artist (Kyle Vincent). I also added an updates page for old update information, and to make it easier for me to keep track of your e-mail I now have 2 e-mail addresses: one for adding links (addme@rockersonline.com) and one for updating information (updates@rockersonline.com).

Added new bands.
I've been updating and adding some new bands, and trying to catch up on some e-mails I've gotten over the past few months (If you e-mailed me anything, I'm probably getting to it! I'm up to July now.) Right now I'm trying to find a job out in Los Angeles, CA and take care of some things before I move, but I'm trying to squeeze some work on this page in to my schedule too!

The new site!
Welcome to the new site! For those of you who are new, this site used to be called Musicians Online, and was located at http://pobox.com/~sharan/musiconline. This site started as the final project for my MS in Communications with an emphasis on Interactive and New Communication Technologies (I graduated last December).

For people who've seen the old site, you'll notice a bunch of changes, and more are on the way!  First of all, I fixed all the bad links I could find, and tried to respond to a lot of the changes people e-mailed me about (I still have some I'm working on). I also added a search page, fixed up the individual pages, and more.  You'll note that I plan on adding reviews (none are up yet), and I will be combining this with the Local Rock site, although I will have a separate search page for unsigned bands, and each unsigned band will get the Local Rock logo on their individual page. In other news, I'm moving to an apartment MUCH closer to my job next week, so I should have a lot more time to devote to the page that I've been spending commuting. So keep checking back!
